Stewardship Campaign
"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."
Habakkuk 2:14
There are many truths in scripture that we are expected to hold in tension, meaning that they are both true, but can be challenging to reconcile with one another. God’s sovereignty and human responsibility come to mind, as does the promise that no one knows the day or hour of Christ’s return, while we are told to recognize the signs of His appearing.
Another one of these parallel truths is the often-repeated admonition to live in expectation of Christ’s imminent return and yet to build something that will stand for generations to come. Parents are told to instruct their children in the Lord with the goal of them instructing their own children and with those children investing in future generations. Churches are commanded to make disciples who will make disciples who will, in turn, make more disciples. In both cases, we are building toward a future we may never see in the hope that God will multiply our faithfulness for the fame of His great name.
What does this have to do with a stewardship campaign? Everything! As we seek the Lord’s leading in what He would have us give on an individual and family level, we are investing in a future that, if the Lord wills, we will not see with our own eyes. I’m not talking merely about the building of a new facility for ministry - I’m talking about the ministry itself - a ministry that, barring the Lord’s return, will far outlive each one of us. We are joining together to make the message of the gospel available; both to our own neighbors, and to the generations of Williamson County that have yet to be born. We are praying, sacrificing and giving so that the nations will be glad and sing for joy (Psalm 67:4). We are building a facility to help us in the building of His Kingdom; a place to foster stable marriages and strong families. We are joining God in His work to fill the earth with the clear knowledge of His glory.
It is our prayer that you will commit the next few weeks to seeking the Lord and simply asking Him what He would have you do to help people know Jesus, love Jesus, live for Jesus, and tell others about Him. Whatever He asks, please follow His leading. I cannot wait to see what He will do.
Until everyone knows,
Pastor Bobby
We will gather at 150 Main Hippo Drive for a time of prayer and dedication, every first Saturday at 9 AM.
PLEASE NOTE: Our land is under construction. While the construction is going on, we’ve reserved the western portion of the property (between the 3rd and 4th telephone poles on the right as you drive down Main Hippo Drive) for ministry events. Please keep away from the actual construction site where work is occurring, due to the hazards there (open trenches, sharp edges, etc.). BE SAFE! And please dress and prepare accordingly.
If you’re excited about getting involved, but you’re not sure where to start, let us help you. The truth is, there are many creative ways to find some margin in your regular budget so you can contribute to Until Everyone Knows.
Is there something in your daily life that you can take advantage of less frequently? By decreasing an expense, regardless of what it may be, you can save money to contribute to the new building.
Are there any plans that you might be making that involve a financial commitment? If so, prayerfully consider delaying
these plans and use that extra income to contribute to the
Until Everyone Knows campaign.
Considering some creative ways you can do more is another way you can give. Perhaps it’s been a while since you’ve gotten another quote on an existing service. Maybe you can do some extra comparison or bargain shopping.
Another way you can contribute to
Until Everyone Knows
is by giving existing assets. Giving the asset to the church and then letting the church sell it may eliminate potential capital gains taxes for you and can increase the after-tax proceeds for the church.
